Use Logbooks and Planners To Stay Organized

As producers of logbooks, we here at Eager books obviously really love these kinds of products. Before starting here, I must admit I never really considered using a logbook for something I could simply jot down on a blank piece of paper. However, after seeing all of the great products we create here, I honestly started to come around to the idea of it. And of course, eventually, I gave in and tried it out. To be quite honest, it has helped me out tremendously. And that’s why now, I use logbooks and planners to stay organized, in every area of my life.

Daily-Weekly- Monthly Planner

When you’re as busy as I am, and have a million things running through your mind from balancing school, work, kids practices, managing different projects, and trying to launch your own business empire. You can often forget small details. This is where I first began using a daily planner. I like the one we offer here because it has just what you need without any of the unnecessary fluff that others often add, which just leads to additional pages to flip through. It’s also great because it’s highly customizable. But of course, you already know the benefits of a great planner, because I know you already own one right? If not no worries, you can order it here.

Here’s what I like most. I can outline my days, early mornings when my thoughts are fresh, or late at night when my mind refuses to shut down. At these times, the attention to detail is high so not only will I have nice bullet points. I also have tiny details that are super helpful. I can make my to-do list, and check them off as I accomplish each goal. I can add appointments, or important calls, take notes about new information or people I’ve talked to, add in contacts or resources such as useful websites, suppliers, or new opportunities. The list goes on and on. But the most important part is that everything is located in one easy to use, and quick-to-find spot, my planner.

The same goes for other logbooks I use like: my recipe book, maintenance logs, order tracker, and workout logbook. In our blog post entitled What’s Hot This Year In Books 2022, we talked about some of our favorite planners there as well, so be sure to check out that article for more ideas.

Workout Logbook

The workout book is especially useful because it not only tracks my exercises and repetitions, it also tracks water intake, vitamin supplementation, mood, and more. I am able to account for each exercise and the number of reps for each exercise completed. This allows me to track my progress in the gym. I’m able to track my weight and strength gains at the same time. Tracking strength gains is super effective because it allows you to see your progression over time. Over the course of a year, you’ll see tons of changes you may have overlooked.

They say progression overload is the true way to build muscle. What is progression overload you ask? Progression overload is when you slowly begin to build up your reps, sets, and weight of your exercises. When you first start out with a workout routine you may only be able to let ten-pound dumbbells for five repetitions. However, by pushing, and challenging yourself to force out more reps, over time you’ll build strength. That why having a way to track your progress is so important. You can even track your diet, water intake, and any vitamins as well. Order your workout log today.

Types of Logbooks

There’s literally a logbook for everything. There are fishing logs for tracking the perfect fishing spots. Dream journals, have you ever had an amazing dream that you just couldn’t wait to share or research the meaning of? Only to find out you’ve forgotten the entire thing once you’ve fully awakened? In that case, you may consider a dream journal. While we’re on the topic of sleeping. How about a sleep tracker. Track how many hours you sleep and discover trends in your sleeping habits.

Relationship Logbook For Couples

This is a very simple, but extremely effective way to improve communication between partners. A communication logbook for couples helps to build intimacy, trust, love, and respect within a relationship. More information on this book can be found on its sales page here. But essentially, the book works by allowing a partner to bring challenging topics to the other by making an entry. That person gets everything off their chest, in the most respectable way, while also listing any boundaries that may have been crossed or ones that need to be established. The other partner reads the entry, and then responds, at which point it’s done. It’s then the 2nd partner’s responsibility to take into account what was said and make the necessary changes to help the other partner feel heard and validated.

Planners & Logbooks Are Worth The Extra Effort

Of course, there’s a bit more footwork involved in logging all of your activities, but once you make a habit out of doing it, you honestly become hooked. There’s nothing like having high-quality information at your fingertips. If your doctor asks, how’s your water intake you can say great, for the last 90 days I’ve had a gallon a day. The doctor might also ask how often do you work out? You might say, I’ve been consistent with my routine for the past six months. What supplements are you taking? I take these, and here are the doses I take each day.

Within this article, we’ve linked to several products that we recommend and enjoy. We really think you will enjoy them as well, so please check out our suggestions. All of our products can be found on Amazon, and many of the links we’ve added go directly there for your convenience.
