Quit Books Faster

How to enjoy reading. Don’t read anything you’re not absolutely crazy about. If it’s boring, ditch it right away! And come back to it another time. Start quitting books right away If they don’t serve you. Yes, you should be electrified by what you’re reading. I enjoy non-fiction books the most. And I can get the same excitement from non-fiction as I would get from drama or other fiction genres. So find what works for you.

Choose Better Books

Pick books that coincide with some current aspect of your life. I’ll give you a great example if you were on a diet right now and you started to read Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds by David Goggins. There’s absolutely no way you wouldn’t feel inspired. You would be so intrigued, so motivated, and ready to go. It’s impossible to read that book and not feel hyped up, or to ask yourself “If he could accomplish all of that, what can I do”?

Find a Comfortable Place to Read

Settings can make or break the entire experience. Choose a setting, time, and place that encourages your desire to read. Under a shady tree in the middle of a park, on a beach, or in bed when you’re all alone. You could even create your very own reading nook somewhere in your home. But the setting is everything.

Set Aside Time Daily to Read

Set aside an allotted time to read every day. This time can be as long, or as short, as you want it to be. Even 10 minutes a day for a year would lead to transformative change. Surely after a year or even before it, you would have chosen to increase the amount of time you spend reading. But at even 10 minutes a day I’m sure you can see that, not only is it doable, you can recognize that it would be beneficial as well. This will also more than likely lead to you becoming a bookworm, which is what we want after all.

Choose Which Book Format Works for You

Nowadays, there are tons of options for consuming books. Notice I said consuming, perhaps flipping through pages is not your thing, and that’s fine. And, while some people may not consider audiobooks the real thing. Guess what? They sure have the same real information inside. So, determine whether you like paperbacks, hardcovers, audiobooks, or eBooks? Find which format you enjoy most and stick to that. Doing this will also help you stay on track with your goals.

Find your Favorite Genre

As silly as it sounds, maybe you’re not aware of all the various book genres that exist. But there are tons of genres to choose from, such as romance, science fiction, thrillers, drama, self-help, biographies, young adult (teen), and so many more sub-genres. There’s literally something for everyone. So spend some time exploring the different options and choose something that piques your interest. Book Tok, Bookstagram, Pinterest, and YouTube are great options for getting familiar with new trendy book titles and genres. We have an excellent resource for recommended books on Pinterest. Ask Questions

Write down a list of questions you have before you start the book, and write down the answers as you discover them throughout your reading. Become very curious, as you read. Think of further questions you would like to know. Then use Google to get the answers.

Share What You’ve Read

Share the information you’ve learned. You’ll be excited to be able to share interesting or cool facts with someone you know. Sharing your thoughts on a book can lead to some pretty interesting conversations, and amazing book recommendations as well. You can even start a blog and share your reviews. Or start a YouTube channel, Instagram, Tik Tok, and monetize your new hobby.

Research The Book before Reading

Look it up to find out interesting facts about it. This will get you excited about beginning your new book. The best part is you’re always anticipating the part of the story that you’re aware of, wondering when that scene will play out. So it gives you something to look forward to while providing you with the necessary context you were missing out on before you started, during the research stage.

Learn about the Author

Just as we can become fans of a particular series. We can also become fans of certain authors. What is it about this author that draws you to them? Perhaps you two have similar backgrounds, come from the same state, share the same personality traits, and so on. Maybe you’re just assuming things about this person from the single image of them in their book. Whatever it is, there may be something about the author that draws you in and makes you want to read their work.
