Are You Looking To Find Cheap Books- Children’s Books, Textbooks, Novels, Nonfiction, etc.

The top 5 places to find cheap books. Well, if you’re a #bookaddict like me, your bookcase has no room. And, you have books stacked up in the most random places around your home. I think I like buying books more than I actually like reading them. Of course I plan to read them someday, but my TBR (to be read) pile at this point would more than likely take a lifetime to complete, and the worst part about it is I keep buying more. I don’t know about anyone else, but it’s the covers that get me. Just kidding, it’s the content. I think.

The Best Places To Find Cheap Books

My number one place for finding cheap books is the Dollar Tree. It wouldn’t be a weekend without me and my wife’s weekly trip to every Dollar Tree in town. I love this purely out of habit. It’s not the cheapest or best selection, but I truly enjoy finding random books that interests me. However, on occasion, you may even find a coveted title you’ve been seeking forever. What could be more special than that?

Finding Cheap Books At The Thrift Store

This has ought to be one of the best ways to find cheap books. However, before you get your hopes up and go out on your own only to find the books are barely discounted from their retail prices. I’ll say your mileage may vary, depending on where you go. So keep in mind, you may need to go to several places before you get lucky. With that being said, you’ll want to be sure to ask shop employees if they have any special deals on the books. Some Stores will often have special days where they have deeply discounted merchandise, usually half off, or dollar days. The absolute best deal I’ve ever found was at a thrift store that once a month they had a book sale for 10 cents a book. At the time I sold books online so needless to say I left with carts full of books. So the deals are definitely out there, if you shop around.

To Find Cheap Books Try Your Local Library

The local library will often host sales, or have donation boxes where you could leave with a few free books. Your library may also have resources for websites and mobile apps that would allow you to read any eBook you want for free. I signed up through my library for an app named Hoopla, which allows me access to almost any book I could want. This is also important because, like in our blog post entitled How To Read More Often When You Don’t Like Reading. We state that one of the ways to increase your reading habits is to always have a book on you. This is because you never know when you’ll have unexpected down time that could be better spent than just aimlessly scrolling on your social media.

Find Cheap Books On Classified Platforms like Craigslist and OfferUp

Another favorite of mine, especially from my book selling days. Oftentimes people will sell their bulk book supply on Craigslist after a failed attempt at offloading them at a yard sale. Because of this, the price will be very flexible and negotiable. OfferUp, on the other hand, you’re more likely to find single books, but at a very discounted second hand price. Try searching for a particular book and you just may luck up on a steal.

Find Cheap Books On Amazon- Audiobooks, and eBooks

Did you know you can find super cheap books on Amazon? There are actually tons of great deals to be found there under $10.00 all the way down to $0.00. You can simply search book deals. Or sign up for a subscription service. If you’re new to Kindle or Audible through Amazon, you can enjoy your free trial and free books by signing up here for Audible. If you prefer eBooks, you can sign up here for Kindle for an unlimited reading/listening free trail.
